Earth Day 2007

Yesterday we celebrated Earth Day by doing a ride to benefit a program called b.i.k.e. (Bikes & Ideas for Kids Empowerment).

What is b.i.k.e.?

b.i.k.e. was formed January 10, 1995 for the purpose of providing
opportunities and options for inner-city, at-risk children. It is a
non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Our goal is to provide personal,
athletic and academic success through the medium of bicycles.
The bicycle is a tool that we use to encourage children to race
after all kinds of dreams. It draws out the children's strength
and courage, and challenges their fear.

What a worthwhile program - one that I definitely believe in. The director/founder of the program is quite a colorful personality, but his passion is for this program and for the kids that benefit from b.i.k.e. and I like that.

Will have photos after we do the Ride Around Clark County on May 5. Check out the links to b.i.k.e. and Urban Wineworks.
