Almost Like Being in a Subdivision!

In December I suggested that we take a walk to check out the lights in the Autumn Trace Neighborhood. It felt like we were part of the neighborhood just having a new road that is directly across the street from our house -
This picture is from our Living Room - at the end of July
At first I was none to happy about idea of 19 new houses across the street, actually I'm still not that thrilled, BUT the road...the road I LOVE!

For a couple of reasons, when we run, it's safer than running on the fast road in front of our house just to get around the corner AND there is easy access to Bliss Road now a much easier way to get across traffic as I go to work :) Even better for bike commuting!

There has been progress new street lamp posts (nice ones) have been put in and we are wondering when the houses will be starting to pop up. It seems like around here that's what happens..one day nothing the next day "Oh look new neighbors." Okay, so that's a little extreme, but it seems like it doesn't take long for these new homes to be built.

We'll see how things go, it is the end of January and not the ideal time for new construction!

Greeks vs. Armenians

Saw this on Google news last week and thought this was the most incredible thing ever...it's craziness! It seems so crazy that a fight would break out because someone was not cleaning in their rightful area.

Later on I looked at this clip again and noticed that one of the clergy was taking pictures or video with his phone...seriously?! That just upped the crazy factor a notch or two...

Happy New Year!

We hosted a little New Year's Eve gathering at our house this year...I didn't get photos of everyone - Doug, Mary & Evan were here also...I managed to grab the camera later in the evening mostly because Dani came back to play dominoes with a pile of snacks on her plate - she was sharing, but it was pretty impressive!

While waiting for midnight to roll around we played Apples to Apples, Killer Uno and Mexican Train dominoes. LOVE playing games! Oh...and eating too!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day on a Sunday - Very Cool! Worship started at 11 am which gave us some time to enjoy our morning by opening gifts and having our cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

After church we made our way over to Claudson's for lunch, but had to make a stop at Starbucks to visit with the coffee crew there very briefly - and to drop off some treats for them...

Christmas Eve

This year instead of having a Christmas Eve Service we had a Christmas Eve Serving...many members signed up to go caroling at a couple of retirement centers or to deliver treats to those who had to work that evening.

The group that I was a part of visited Clearwater Springs in Hazel Dell to sing a bunch of songs and it was so much fun! Several of the residents sang along - even though it was their dinner time.

After our serving time Tom and I came home and our tradition is to get into the stockings before going to bed. I like that tradition!

Christmas

Yeah, I know, it's New Year's Day...but I FINALLY have downloaded my photographs and am starting to update this space now.

This first smilebox is from the gifts that I made for my supervisor and a past supervisor as well as some of my favorite partner's in crime...

I had a lot of fun making all of these items! I have never really done a lot with fleece, but I think I may be doing more in the future!
