Tour de Blast 2010

It was wet.

WE were wet.

We were pelted by rain going downhill at 30+ mph.

That was unpleasant.

We got no photos.

We were happy to return to Toutle.

Tour de Blast 2011?

Maybe.

At least I got the T-shirt.

Friday was my 45th Birthday! I took my floating holiday and got a nice break away from work. The day itself was pretty relaxing - coffee with a friend, hanging out with Tom who was home from work.  That evening we went to Charlie's Bistro for Happy Hour. Not all of our core group could make it (Missed you Dan & Dani!), but we had fun hanging out and visiting.

My birthay cake was from Larson's, the Strawberry Cream Cake...SO GOOD!

Just when I thought that these guys were out the door and leaving, they came back to sing the song...this was their second time through because I was not ready for them yet -

New Nook

So we finished the beautification project in the kitchen! It's looks so great...so I'm not going to babble on too much about it. You would think that after 12 years, we could do more stuff around our house...oh well. Behold...the new little seating area in our kitchen. For the before go HERE

This first picture is of the original color that we had mixed up years ago. I chose a couple of our Fiestaware colors for the kitchen walls...this one is just a bit much for this particular wall.

This wall has always been an eyesore, we have spent many years trying to just cover up the holes and other uglies. Now it's a nice little space to sit and have a cup of coffee, go over recipes to cook or just hang out. I love it!

Firefighter Plays Hockey...

One of our firefighter's plays hockey with the Portland Firefighter's Hockey team...who knew?! So when Casey put out an email for a play-off game that was coming up I thought it would be a fun thing to do.

Mind you, we know absolutely nothing about hockey. I know there are people wearing lots of padding and skates and carrying sticks hitting a fat disc on the ice...that's about it. I did know that there are three 20 minute periods...I have no idea - I'm gifted.

Anyway, the game was fun, it was free and I'm glad we brought a blanket to sit on the aluminum bleachers(!).

Internet woes...

We have been without internet service at home. A couple of months ago I mentioned to Tom that we could get free email on google, or hotmail or whatever other place on the internet...so Tom talked to pacifer (infinity) and canceled the email accounts which also canceled our internet. Tuesday morning was a little shocking to turn on the computer and try to check my INTERNET email...and NOTHING!

This week has been eventful, but I don't have the time to update...this quick update comes from my desk at work and I'm looking forward to having faster internet from Qwest...hopefully tonight!
