Pretty Stuff

Up until very recently I haven't really been that interested in wearing much in the way of accessories, you know, bracelets, necklaces...etc. I have been pretty happy with wearing my wedding ring and a watch - a very old sports watch. Actually, the ring is an anniversary ring, but still it's one ring. I can't bear to wear too many items on my fingers even though I like the idea.

A couple of years ago my friend Mary had a Premier Designs jewelry party at her home and for fun, I decided to go and check it out. Premier Designs has a lot of nice necklaces, but can be a bit on the spendy side, so I only bought one necklace. A necklace that I only wear occasionally.

Toward the end of September this year Mary had yet another jewelry party and I booked a party from her party. So a couple of weeks ago I had a Premier Designs Jewelry party and invited some of my friends to come over and "play" with some pretty jewelry...this last week the box came to my back door! Who knew? Who knew that I would like to wear jewelry?

My Monday routine for the past bazillion years has been to meet with Robin and Andrew and hang out and drink coffee. Well, it's been a bazillion years and things are just now starting to get a little stale. So now we are diversifying and going to different places for our visits. Here's a sampling - Yo'Licious frozen yogurt, Charlie's Bistro, Starbucks at Esther Short park and this week Chuck's Produce & Street Market.

Chuck's opened last Thursday in what used to be Joe's on Mill Plain. It was a fun outing for the 4 of us (Andrew & Tom came along too) and while I thought they had a nice variety of food stuff, I don't think that it is a place that I would go to routinely. It is a little bit out of the way -  15 to 17 miles to Chucks (depending on your route) while Winco is just about 5 miles away from our house. Less driving is best for me :)

It might be fun for lunch, if we happen to be in that area...which is not that often. At least we have options.

Shoes

I like shoes just as much as the next gal, but I REALLY like cycling shoes. That's only because I only get to buy cycling shoes when I need too...yes, NEED, don't judge me.

So, last week Tom and I hit all of Beth's cycle classes at the gym that happened between Monday & Friday. FOUR classes! For these classes I have been sporting my Shimano MTB shoes - 

These work great and all, but the cleats that I have on these do not work on the pedals that are on the spin bikes at the gym.

So this past Saturday, I made a trip out to Performance (oh darn) and checked out some shoes before consulting with Mr. Matt about shoes for spin class and he steered me to these -

These were a whopping $39.99! Matt even found a pair of cleats that were not packaged up so that saved another $10!

Online Shopping gets Fancy

I have done a fair amount of on-line shopping for fun because it is fun to get something cool in the mail, but mostly because it is more convenient.

For the past few weeks I have been shopping for shoes and have exhausted all the places within a 5 mile radius of my home - maybe I should get out more - so then I decided to try out DSW.com. Okay, yes, there is a DSW store at Cascade Station, but I don't go there so I wouldn't go buy shoes in the actual store. I found a shoe that I thought would be a good work shoe and promptly placed an order online on Tuesday. Yesterday, Friday, I received the shoes and the shoes are great, but the packaging was what really got me! Check it out...

The shoe box was wrapped in purple tissue paper and the sticker says "Unleash your Passion for Shoes". The receipt and other information comes in a fancy envelope and they even tucked a DHL tag in just in case the shoes didn't work...HOW COOL IS THAT?! The prices are pretty fair and there is a shipping fee, but nothing beats a package that has been carefully packaged for shipping....LOVE IT!
